MESSAGE FROM LOUIS UCCELLINI
As a result of my participation in the mid west
severe weather
workshop last Fall and the many interactions I
had there, I heard a
clear message about providing better severe
weather guidance to the
user, based on the hourly RUC. Well, the
NCEP model web page has been
expanded. First we have added access to
the hourly RUC. Secondly we
have just added two derived parameters: 1) the
Helicity and 2) the
CAPE/CIN. So go to NCEP.noaa.gov or
Weather.gov and click on the model
page, scroll down and click on the latest RUC
and you will see these
fields as a successful outgrowth of that
enjoyable meeting last fall.
