CIAMS Chapter Picnic Details

Details:
The Chapter will provide assorted meats (burgers, veggie burgers, brats, boneless chicken breasts) and buns for the picnic as well as ice and a cooler for beverages.  Please bring a fun summer dish, dessert, or outdoor game to the picnic (see below).  All are welcome to attend, including your family members.  

Do I Need to Sign Up?:
Yes.  Please sign up for the picnic by sending an email to Sam Shea (sshea@uiuc.edu) by Thursday, September 14, 2006.  In your message, be sure to indicate how many in your group are attending, and separate them into "adults" and "children."  An example would be, "Yes, Sam.  Please sign me and my family up for the picnic.  There will be 2 adults and 3 children attending.  We will bring 2 bags of chips."  

There will be no penalty for those who sign up and are unable to attend.  Be sure to inform Sam Shea or Mary Petersen by Thursday, September 14th if you have signed up and are unable to attend.

Directions:

From Champaign: Take Springfield Ave. (IL-10) all the way until you see signs for Weldon Springs State Park.  Follow the map provided by the Park for directions to the shelter.

From Peoria: Take I-74 E toward Bloomington.  Then take the I-155 S. exit toward I-155 S/ Lincoln exit.  Merge onto IL-121 S and stay on IL-121 for approximately 33 miles.  Then take the IL-10 E/ IL-121 exit (exit number 126) toward Lincoln/Decatur.  Turn left onto IL-10 E / IL-121 S.  Stay on IL-10 until you see signs for Weldon Springs State Park.  Follow the map provided by the Park for directions to the Meadowview II Shelter.

From Bloomington:  Take I-55 and go southwest to Exit 133.  You will see a sign reading “EXIT 133 to I-55-BL/Lincoln”.  Bear right onto the off-ramp at exit 133.  You will see a sign reading “IL-121 to Lincoln”.  Turn left onto I-55 BL W.  Turn left.  Turn right onto N. Kickapoo Street, and then make a right onto IL-10/IL-121.  Stay on IL-10 until you see signs for Weldon Springs State Park.  Follow the map provided by the Park for directions to the Meadowview II Shelter.

From Springfield (and points SW): Take I-55 north toward Chicago.  Take the I-55-BL exit (exit number 123) toward Lincoln.  Near Lincoln, exit to IL-10 and remain on IL-10 until you see signs for Weldon Springs State Park.  Follow the map provided by the Park for directions to the Meadowview II Shelter.
